GMAT Prep Resource…introducing Magoosh

I recently learned of a very cool GMAT prep resource.  It’s available online, is super easy to use and until July 31, it’s free.  I don’t know about you…but that sounds good to me.  I asked the founders to send me some information on the service so I could tell you about it.  Here is what they had to say:

Magoosh is an online test preparation service that aims to provide high quality, affordable GMAT prep.  All four founders scored in the 97th to 99th percentile on the GMAT, however the team recognizes that a high score is not the only criterion for a good teacher.  Therefore, Magoosh seeks out high scoring and experienced GMAT tutors to develop content.  Brent Hanneson, the current Magoosh tutor and a beatthegmat.com featured expert, scored a 770 on the GMAT and has over seven years of tutoring experience in a range of settings.

The site currently supports the quantitative section of the GMAT.  During a practice session, a user answers questions on an easy-to-use online interface that requires no software installation.  Immediately after answering each question, the user can view a detailed video and text explanation.  The videos also teach general concepts that can be applied across similar question types. In addition, the user can compare his or her score and pace for each question to an average user’s. At any point during the session, the user can view results and review any answered questions.

Magoosh plans to release new features in July including a display of subject-based results (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, etc…) and a chance to earn bonus questions for referrals.  The team is also excited to hear ideas for additional features from the user community.

For a better understanding of Magoosh’s service visit the website. You can answer up to 10 sample questions without signing up.  After signing up, you can answer over 100 additional questions.  Magoosh is currently offering a free trial until July 31 and will announce pricing soon.
