USC Marshall Appoints New MBA Career Services Director

The USC Marshall School of Business announced the appointment today of Gary Fraser as assistant dean and executive director of the Keenan MBA Career Services Center, which provides comprehensive and life-long career support for Marshall students and alumni.

Fraser is currently dean of students and associate dean of MBA student affairs at the NYU Stern School of Business, where he oversees the Office of Student Activities, Office of Career Development and the Career Center for Working Professionals, which he was responsible for launching. Fraser was voted Administrator of the Year multiple times and Dean of the Year by the MBA student community, and he received an NYU President’s Service Award.

“A clear trend that I have seen in recent years is that the average MBA career office has been in more demand than ever,” Fraser said.

“Full-time, part-time and executive MBA students and companies want more ”” more engagement and more customization, as opposed to general recruiting strategies. At NYU Stern, I have had success in working with my team to identify how to manage and customize resources based on individual audiences.”

Prior to joining NYU Stern, Fraser held several positions in brand management at Sara Lee, Cadbury Beverages and Kraft/Nabisco. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University and an MBA from NYU Stern, and completed a doctorate in higher education administration at the University of Pennsylvania in 2011.

“This appointment is the culmination of an extensive and rigorous national search, and we could not be more pleased that Dean Fraser is joining the USC Marshall Trojan Family,” said USC Marshall Dean James G. Ellis. “We are confident that Gary’s rich experience will help to strengthen MBA career services at the Marshall School of Business.”
