Our featured MBA bloggers spoke out about it on Monday, but reactions to the GMAT cheating scandal continue to surface as applicants prepare their admission materials. BusinessWeek.com reports that in the week since cheating allegations emerged surrounding GMAT preparation site Scoretop.com, applicants who used the site have become fearful that their scores will be canceled, they will be banned from retaking the test, or they might even be barred from business school.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has received a $1 million gift from alumnus Art Bilger and his wife, Dahlia. The gift is to create and support the Wharton Interactive Media Initiative (WIMI), a research endeavor focused on interactive media, the effects on global businesses and the implications for traditional media business models.

For business school students wishing to test what they have learned in a practical setting, there are few opportunities to rival the business plan contest, says Financial Times.The American Idol formats ”“ multiple rounds, barb-tongued judges, intense rivalry ”“ and the exposure to potential investors provide one of the stiffest challenges to anyone who has spent the bulk of their MBA course in classrooms or writing academic papers.

Corporate reputations–how they are built, sustained, enhanced and, if necessary, repaired–are all part of the latest research and teaching center at England’s Oxford University, reports Financial Times. The Centre for Corporate Reputation at Saïd Business School will look at how a company’s reputation can impact on its performance and its ability to grow long term.

Attention Wharton applicants: those seeking admission in Fall 2009 (for the class of 2011) can now view the deadlines for submitting your application, as well as the essay questions that will be included in that application, online. The full application, which will include questions for recommenders and other application requirements, will be available online in August.
