New Director at USC Marshall’s CTM Institute

Lucy Hood USC MarshallDigital entertainment industry leader Lucy Hood has been appointed Executive Director of the Institute for Communication Technology Management and Assistant Professor of Clinical Management and Organization at USC Marshall School of Business, the school announced on Friday.

Offering cutting edge research, executive education, and networking opportunities to the networked digital industry, Communication Technology Management is the only industry-sponsored institute embedded in a business school at a leading research university.

“Communication Technology Management is one of the world’s foremost institutes in the telecommunications sector, with a unique combination of consumer and business insight,” Hood said. “I am looking forward to being at the helm of CTM as it offers thought leadership in this rapidly growing trillion-dollar industry.”

Hood, the former president of Fox Mobile Entertainment and CEO of Jamba (both units of News Corporation), will serve a three-year term beginning July 1. Hood will replace Morley Winograd who is retiring on June 30, 2009.

“Lucy Hood is an outstanding leader within the rapidly evolving world of digital media. She understands the opportunities posed by the emergence of new technologies and will be invaluable in helping Communication Technology Management harness these innovations in support of the next generation of cross-cultural and multinational business endeavors,” said USC Marshall Dean James G. Ellis in the school’s media release. “We are very pleased to welcome her to the Trojan family.”
