Simon’s Online Business Simulation Offers EMBA Scholarships

Here’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering an executive MBA program at the University of Rochester’s Simon Graduate School of Business.  Simon is offering full- and partial-tuition scholarships during an Online Business Simulation scholarship competition beginning on November 22, 2010.

For the competition, contestants must devise strategies and solutions to solve a series of six key business decisions. The simulation, established to attract high-quality applications to the Simon School Executive MBA program, is being administered by Marketplace Simulations.

One full-tuition grand prize scholarship valued at over $83,500 and three partial-tuition scholarships are being offered.

Participants in last year’s competition say the simulation gave them acute insight into all the skills needed to run a successful business.  It also gave them concrete learning objectives as they pursued their MBA.

“The 2010 EMBA Business Simulation afforded me two things: A glimpse into the professionally and personally challenging world of the Simon MBA and an opportunity to participate in a world class program I would have been unable to without,” says Jason Saner ’12, who won a full-tuition scholarship in the online competition earlier this year.

The deadline to register is November 19, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. ET, and the competition culminates in January 2011. Scholarship finalists will present their business solutions to a committee comprised of Simon School administrators and faculty at the Simon School on February 4, 2011.

Online registration and additional information is available at www.simon.rochester.edu/execscholarships. If you have any questions regarding the simulation, contact the Simon School Executive Programs Office at emba@simon.rochester.edu or call (585) 275-3439.
