Simon School Introduces New MS Finance Program

The Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester recently launched a 13-month, part-time Master of Science degree program with a concentration in Finance. The New York City-based program is designed for working professionals who seek an advanced finance degree on an accelerated part-time basis.

Starting in March 2011, the program consists of 12 courses of three credit hours each. Ten courses will be conducted at a midtown Manhattan location on alternate weekends. These courses will be arranged in modules of two courses with four weekends of instruction.

The remaining two courses are week-long programs conducted off-site, one at the main campus at the University of Rochester in the summer of 2011 and the other at a European location at the end of the program.

“With our reputation in finance and our analytic, economic-based approach to management education and scholarship, we are confident that our new Master of Science program in Finance will be a great fit for working professionals in the world’s financial capital,” said Dean Mark Zupan. “We are committed to providing our students with the top-tier business education they have come to expect. Their success is our ultimate goal, and at the heart of all that we do.”

The MS Finance curriculum is designed to provide in-depth perspective and the analytical tools to individuals in financial services and corporate finance positions, as well as to broaden the finance-specific knowledge of business professionals who interact with the financial services industry, in fields such as insurance, securities law and consultancy. World-renowned Simon faculty will lead program instruction.
