Rui earned her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and received her BS in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. At Kellogg, Rui worked within the Admissions Committee, where she read hundreds of applications and refined her insights into the MBA application process.

Rui has over 15 years of diverse experience in executive recruiting and talent strategy. As a Principal at a major international search firm, she recruited positions ranging from CEOs to VPs for large global Fortune 500 companies and small private-equity backed organizations. Rui is passionate about career coaching and development. 

Rui values the MBA admissions journey as having many parallels to the executive search process. She views the MBA application as an inflection point in young executives’ lives and an opportunity to show clarity of professional and personal goals. Rui remains an active Kellogg alumna interviewer, an activity she enjoys greatly as it provides her with up-to-date, first-hand knowledge of the school and the opportunity to help shape the next generations of Kellogg graduates.  

A native of China, Rui is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and has extensive international and cross-cultural experience that is part and parcel of her thirteen years spent in Asia. She has lived in more than 10 cities around the world including Shanghai, Xi’An, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and now Dallas, TX. She is an avid reader, an enthusiastic museum goer, a wanderlust traveler, and a competent cook per her stepchildren.
