HBS 2+2 Program Admits 119 Students

HBS Bloomberg CenterThe Harvard Crimson reported Friday that the HBS 2+2 Program has admitted 115 students””nine more than last year. The 2+2 Program, now in its second year, allows students to apply to Harvard Business School in their junior year.

Those accepted work for two years after their college graduations before entering the b-school. This year’s 2+2 cohort will graduate from HBS in 2014.

Applications to the program increased significantly, to 843 from 630 in 2008. The number of students admitted also increased from 106, but Managing Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid Deirdre C. Leopold said that there is no direct correlation between the number of applicants and the number admitted.

On the admissions blog, Leopold provides a profile of the class, but says the stats don’t show how much fun they had meeting these individuals, who come from 51 colleges and universities. “They all have leadership talent and they bring an infectious level of curiosity, initiative and energy.”
