Dana served as Assistant Director of Admissions at Columbia Business School for the Full-Time MBA program and has over 10 years of experience working in higher education.
Known as a scrupulous file reader, Dana reviewed countless applications and assisted in rendering final decisions for the Admissions Committee at CBS. While leading information sessions at Columbia and on the road, Dana met and advised myriad applicants–both domestic and international. She represented Columbia on MBA panels and at admissions conferences, broadening her knowledge of other top MBA programs and connecting with her peers at these schools. Dana provided feedback calls for select reapplicants on how to improve their candidacy to CBS after previous denials of admission.
Dana is a natural and approachable mentor who taps into the unique, multifaceted experiences of her clients; her goal is that clients submit nuanced and self-reflective essays that distinguish them from the pack. Dana’s style is direct, positive and insightful and she pushes her clients to produce the most dynamic and authentic applications possible.
Fluent in Spanish, Dana is about to complete her PhD in Spanish Language & Literature at The University of Chicago. She credits her humanities background with sharpening her analytical and writing skills as well as her firm command of narrative and language. Dana holds a MA Degree from Boston University in Modern Language & Literature and a BA in Spanish & Psychology from Middlebury College. She has taught at the University of Colorado, Boston University and the University of Chicago.
