Hello, and welcome back to another edition of Stacy Blackman’s B-School Buzz! We took a brief break last Friday to feature our exclusive interview with Kellogg‘s Dean Sally Blount, but are back this week with all the latest from applicants and students who some how manage to keep their myriad plates spinning!
Scheduling woes–Although quite happy to see that invitation to interview from UM Ross School of Business in his inbox this week, Pyarapopat has the perhaps enviable problem of scheduling said interview between this weekend’s backpacking trip to Spain and another in Switzerland two weeks from now. Fingers crossed he can set up that interview without having to cancel one of those amazing trips!
Take a moment to reflect— Any first-year MBA student can tell you how potentially overwhelming business school is, which is why it’s so important to take a moment now and then to make sure your priorities are on track. MBAChic did just that recently, and came to realize that she needed to leave a student organization that no longer tied in with her goals. If you’re mid-semester now, how would your checkpoint look?

What a difference a year makes–One year ago this week was the first time Ellipser set foot on the campus he now calls home–Cornell’s Johnson School. Whereas this time last year he was attending the Johnson Means Business diversity weekend; now, he’s participating in focus groups, jetting off to Core team meetings, sitting for mock interviews, and running for student council. Basically, he’s “stressed and busy”, just the way he wanted to be!
