Taming Oxford’s “Hillary” term—Shaking off the false sense of security caused by the end of exams and the holiday break, Bayo has begun an intense second term at Saïd Business School. Tasked with organizing the Venture Capital Investment Competition, Bayo provides details of the event as well as photos from the recent, end-of-term festivities.

With gratitude—Anyone who’s applied to business school knows what an arduous process it is, and having the support of family and friends  makes the journey so much easier. In his latest post, Pyarapopat expresses his thanks to those who have played a role these past several months, from his wife and friends, to his recommenders and interviewers, each of whom provided valuable support and guidance along the road that, come fall, will lead to an MBA at Kellogg.

A b-school point formula—For any military applicant wondering whether they have what it takes to get into a top business school such as HBS, Stanford or Wharton, the latest post on the Military to Business blog looks at five areas of evaluation to determine one’s competitiveness. The post notes that some people tend to either over-or underestimate their candidacy, so it’s important not to self-select out of any school you truly want to go to. “Always let the school be the final decision maker,” MtoB writes.

Johnson hits Silicon Valley—So what happens when b-school students hit the road for a tech trek? Ellipser explains all in his recent post recounting the Johnson School’s West Coast trek, which took place earlier this month. From chance encounters with friends from other MBA programs to visits with tech companies large and small, it seems Richard had an amazing experience.
