The administration at HBS responds to “Ahead of the Curve“, a new book by Philip Delves Broughton (MBA 2006) we mentioned a few weeks ago. Carl Kester, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, says that the memoir’s merits are countered by numerous factual errors and mischaracterizations that range in nature from minor to egregious.

Haas MBA students this fall are enjoying a roster of new courses in such fields as entrepreneurship in wireless services, improvisation and leadership, and sustainability metrics.

The Stanford Graduate School of Business formally broke ground on its new business school campus September 10. Nike founder and chairman Philip Knight, a 1962 MBA alumnus, has given the school $105m towards the new building, which is to be named the Knight Management Center.

BusinessWeek has several interesting articles this week. The Scoretop scandal resurfaces with the news that 84 cheaters have had their GMAT scores canceled; business schools are adapting many of the elements of green business to their own buildings and facilities; plus, the site offers tips on how to go to B-school for free.

The Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., are forming a Direct Admission Partnership to encourage undergraduates to pursue an MBA at the Simon School immediately following their studies.
