Darden Expands Gulf Programs

Darden School of Business recently announced that its executive education program has partnered with the Saudi Arabia Institute of Banking (IOB) and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to design a five-week executive development program for outstanding mangers from the Gulf region.

Through case study analysis, participants of the Leadership Development Program (LDP) will explore actual business problems and solutions to discover new ways of thinking about their own challenges. Learning team and class discussions offer an opportunity to practice influencing others, understanding differing viewpoints and thinking strategically.

The program will build on the 10-year relationship between the Bahrain Institute and Darden, in which the business school has designed and delivered the Gulf Executive Development Program for senior managers. The new program will focus on a higher tier of participants.

“In designing the leadership program,” David Newkirk, CEO of Darden Executive Education, says “my colleagues started with the understanding that leading a successful financial institution is both a science and an art, and equally important, that each individual must discover and develop the leadership capabilities distinctly suited to them and to their organizational setting.”
