So, What’s Your Plan B?

As you sit down to hammer out those application essays, take a moment to read this entry from the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants blog. During the AIGAC conference in June, MBA admissions officers repeatedly brought up one element they want to see in the essays that come across their desks this application season: Tell us your back-up plan.

These days, it’s wise to balance your ambition with a dose of realism. If your dream job doesn’t land in your lap after graduation, how will you not only cope with that sobering reality, but thrive? If you can demonstrate a willingness to make less-than-ideal circumstances work in your favor, you’re already ahead of the game.
