Leadership & Theater Elective at Darden
The Admissions News Blog at Darden School of Business recently highlighted a unique second-year elective called “Leadership & Theater: Ethics, Innovation, and Creativity.”
Offered as a one-week course in January, as well as quarter-long courses in Q3 and Q4, the elective centers around the idea that the job of a theater director is similar to that of a CEO, and, each course ends in a full-length play written, directed, and performed by all of the members of the class.
Although some students may be dubious about the link between theater and business, a documentary about the course, filmed last spring, shows the many business applications such a class provides.
If the idea piques your interest, check out the 16 minute behind-the-scenes video on Leadership & Theater: Ethics, Innovation and Creativity.
