B-Schooled Podcast Episode #296: Test Review Session FAQ
So you’ve booked your test review session with SBC’s Director of Test Prep, Anthony Ritz. Now what? On this episode of B-Schooled, Stacy Blackman sits down with Anthony to answer the questions students ask most once that session is on the calendar, from which practice test to bring to how (and when) to prepare for it.
Anthony explains that the goal isn’t just to see which questions you missed. It’s to understand your thought process on every answer, right or wrong, so he can build a tutoring plan that actually targets your specific gaps. He walks through why students are often poor judges of their own weak spots, why he asks for an official practice test rather than a company one, and why he’d rather you not review your answers before the session (it muddies the very thinking he’s trying to observe).
The conversation also covers the practical logistics, like where to find an official practice test and how close to the session you should take it, plus cost and scheduling for the trial test review package. Anthony also addresses a question many prospective clients have: whether signing up online guarantees you’ll actually work with him.
Anthony’s approach is refreshingly candid. He’s upfront that the session sometimes ends with him telling a student they don’t need tutoring at all, or that a particular score target isn’t realistic. That honesty is exactly what makes the test review such a useful starting point, whether or not a student ultimately continues with tutoring.
