How GMAC Advancery Can Help MBA Applicants

In a move that reflects the growing role of technology in business school admissions, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has launched GMAC Advancery, a new digital platform designed to help prospective MBA students navigate the early stages of their application journey.

From skill assessments to school comparisons, GMAC Advancery aims to make the research and planning process more accessible, especially for those just starting to explore their options. Although it’s not designed to replace personalized admissions guidance, the platform offers a convenient way to engage with the MBA landscape in a more structured, data-driven way.

What Is GMAC Advancery?

GMAC Advancery combines AI tools with GMAC’s extensive program database to help users:

  • Identify business schools that align with their goals

  • Compare program formats, costs, and timelines

  • Explore career outcomes from different MBA pathways

  • Stay on track with a centralized application planning dashboard

The goal? To give candidates more confidence and clarity at the top of the funnel, before applications are in full swing. The platform is subscription-based, with a 7-day free trial. After that, users can choose a monthly plan ($59) or a six-month option ($129), depending on how long they plan to use the tool.

GMAC Advancery: A Useful Starting Point for MBA Research

At Stacy Blackman Consulting, we welcome tools that help demystify the MBA process. Getting oriented can feel overwhelming for many applicants, especially first-timers or international students. GMAC Advancery meets that need by offering a centralized, user-friendly resource to compare programs and begin shaping a plan.

That said, while GMAC Advancery is a strong tool for exploration, it isn’t intended to guide applicants through the deeper strategy work that makes applications successful. It doesn’t help you develop your leadership story, strengthen your goals narrative, navigate recommender strategy, or tailor your approach to what individual schools truly value. That’s where expert, human guidance still matters—and where we come in.
